Designed for individuals working in forestry, agriculture, or remote outdoor settings — including tree surgeons, farmers, and land-based professionals — this focused and practical course equips learners with essential first aid skills tailored to high-risk environments. Participants gain the confidence and competence to respond effectively to injuries and medical conditions specific to rural and woodland work.

Ideal for those operating in isolated or hazardous locations where immediate medical assistance may be delayed.

Designed for those who already hold an in date EFAW or FAW qualification or can be run as a bolt on following completion of an EFAW course. Email to discuss further options.

Course Overview

This qualification can be delivered alongside a regulated EFAW course (1 Day) or as a separate 2 hour course and supports compliance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It also aligns with the Forestry Commission’s First Aid at Work policy, helping learners meet the required standards for a recognised ‘licence to practice.’

Participants will learn to manage:

• Severe bleeding — including the use of direct pressure, tourniquets, and haemostatic dressings

• Crush injuries — recognition and response strategies

• Temperature extremes — such as hypothermia and heat-related illness

• Lyme disease — awareness, prevention, and early intervention
